The American Heart Association has invested over $500 million to address health disparities in minority groups. This includes more than $210 million in scientific research focused on health inequities and expanding opportunities for underrepresented groups in science and medicine. Over $300 million was invested in community-led solutions, with $59 million specifically allocated through the Social Impact Fund and Bernard J. Tyson Social Impact Fund.
The Association also worked on expanding Medicaid benefits, tobacco control policies, hypertension control initiatives, and improving workplace health equity. These efforts aim to ensure equitable health opportunities for all communities.
