Kelvin Choi

Dr. Kelvin Choi is addressing health disparities in minority groups through his research on tobacco use and its social determinants. As the Scientific Director of the Division of Intramural Research at the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD), he leads efforts to understand and mitigate tobacco-related health disparities.

Dr. Choi’s research focuses on the interrelationships between social determinants and tobacco use, examining how factors like education, race, and socioeconomic status influence smoking behaviors. He investigates the impact of tobacco marketing on these disparities and develops interventions to reduce tobacco use among minority populations.
