Rhea Boyd is a pediatrician, public health advocate, and scholar dedicated to addressing health disparities and promoting health equity. She earned her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Boyd also holds a Master of Public Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Dr. Boyd’s career focuses on the intersection of health and social justice, with a particular emphasis on the impact of structural racism on health outcomes. She is a vocal advocate for addressing the social determinants of health, such as housing, education, and economic stability, which disproportionately affect communities of color. Her work aims to dismantle systemic barriers and promote equitable access to healthcare for all.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Boyd is an influential voice in public health discourse. She has written extensively on the impact of racism on health and has been featured in numerous media outlets. Dr. Boyd is also the co-developer of The Conversation: Between Us, About Us, a national campaign to provide Black communities with credible information about COVID-19 vaccines.
